Expectations for Our Class
Student Expectations:
1. Come to class prepared, on time, and ready to learn.
2. Ask questions or attend tutoring when you do not understand the concepts.
3. Complete ALL homework and class assignments, even when absent.
Students must get their own missing work out from the Extra Copies tray at the front of the class.
4. STUDY for tests (parent signature required for all tests).
5. Follow the CMS and Raven Way Policies.
(Be sure to sign and review policies addressing electronic devices and dress code.)
Classroom Behavior Expectations:
Good behavior is expected at all times with students understanding that they are responsible for their behavior and for the consequences that follow.
Supplies
There are many materials on the school supply list, but for my math class the following materials will be what is needed for my math class: 1 ½ in. binder (for math only), a hand pencil sharpener, sharpened pencils (NO PENS), 2 spiral notebooks (designated for only math), loose leaf lined paper, and a 2 pocket folder (for HW). Items that would be greatly appreciated, but are not required are tissue, hand sanitizer, Glade & Airwick air fresheners refills for plug-ins, candy for rewards (no peanuts or gum please), reams of copier paper (white or colored), Clorox wipes, crayons, colored pencils, and extra notebook paper and pencils for the class.
Homework
Homework is given almost every day in the form of a “Half Sheet” (this is what I call it) and occasionally to finish any class work that students are not able to complete during class time. It is due the following school day. Students must show their work on all homework (and class work) in order to receive credit. Late homework will receive a reduced grade.
Warm-ups
Warm-ups are given daily and are to be dated and worked out in the warm-up notebook, which is left in class. Warm-ups will be reviewed daily and students are to correct their answers as we review the work. A warm-up notebook quiz will be given periodically for a quiz grade. Students must have the dates and correct answers recorded in their warm-up notebook in order to answer the quiz questions.
